Geal Consultants advises boards and executive teams on the strategic decisions that determine competitive positioning and long-term direction. If complex business problems interest you more than predetermined solutions, you’ll find the work here intellectually demanding and professionally rewarding.
We deliberately take on strategic questions that resist easy answers. Expect your analysis to be interrogated and your recommendations scrutinised by both partners and clients. That level of challenge accelerates professional development in ways routine consulting work cannot match.
Strategy advisory requires more than analytical capability. You need to understand organisational politics, recognise when execution constraints matter more than theoretical solutions, develop confidence to voice unpopular conclusions and learn how decisions actually get made in complex organisations. Working closely with executive teams builds that judgement through direct observation rather than classroom instruction.
We’ve chosen to remain deliberately small. That means pursuing fewer projects with greater depth and building relationships with clients who value independent thinking. Your contribution matters visibly to the firm’s success.
Supporting partners on strategic foresight, portfolio analysis, decision frameworks and implementation planning for executive clients. We’re looking for candidates with demonstrated analytical strength and the ability to communicate complex recommendations clearly to board-level audiences. Typically suited to individuals with prior experience in strategy consulting, investment analysis, corporate strategy or related analytical roles.
Managing client engagement coordination, project administration, internal operations, and partner-level scheduling. This role requires exceptional organisational capability and sound judgement when handling confidential strategic work. You’ll gain direct insight into how strategic advisory engagements operate and how client relationships develop at the executive level.
If your background doesn’t fit the roles above but you believe your experience aligns with strategic advisory work, we welcome speculative applications. We evaluate candidates on analytical rigour and demonstrated ability to work effectively on ambiguous problems where the path forward isn’t immediately obvious.
Geal Consultants is seeking a Strategy Analyst to work directly with partners on consequential strategic questions for boards and executive teams. You’ll contribute to work on strategic foresight, portfolio decisions, market entry strategy and implementation planning across sectors. This isn’t a junior role where you produce background analysis that disappears into appendices. You’ll participate in client discussions, present recommendations to executive audiences and see how your work influences decisions that shape organisational direction.
Academic background: Strong undergraduate degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) in any discipline. We value analytical rigour over specific subject matter. Postgraduate qualifications (MBA, Master’s degree) are advantageous but not required.
Prior experience: Typically, 2-4 years in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy or similar analytical roles. Exceptional candidates with non-traditional backgrounds who demonstrate the capabilities above will be considered.
Additional qualities include:
Professional development: Direct exposure to board-level strategic work, regular feedback from partners, support for relevant professional qualifications and access to industry conferences where you’ll develop expertise faster than traditional consulting pyramid structures allow.
Time off: 25 days annual leave plus UK bank holidays, with additional days granted after two years of service.
Health and wellbeing: Private medical insurance, mental health support and life assurance.
Pension: Employer contributions matching up to 8% of salary.
Performance bonus: Discretionary annual bonus based on individual contribution and firm performance.
We’re building a team where different perspectives strengthen the quality of strategic thinking. Strategy advisory improves when it incorporates varied experiences, backgrounds and viewpoints rather than replicating the same thinking patterns. We actively encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, particularly those underrepresented in professional services.
We’re committed to fair assessment processes. If you require adjustments during the interview process due to disability or other circumstances, please let us know and we’ll accommodate your needs.
Submit your CV and a covering letter to careers@gealconsultants.com explaining why strategy advisory work interests you and what you’d bring to this role.
Application deadline: Applications reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled
